Where would you recommend fishing in North Florida around Christmas? I have fished around Lakeland and would like to stay there or somewhere north of there.Any advice would be appreciated

Don't know much about North Florida, but there are plenty of lakes in central Florida to keep you busy. Lake Monroe will probably be doing great and turning out plenty of 14" fish by then. In Lake county anywhere on the Harris chain will be great also. Keep checking the posts for reports and the slabfest we have each month in central Florida.
Try Talquin. I and a lot of other crappie.com fishermen will be there. Use the search feature and research talquin for december.

how long you staying for? if your a snowbird theres a pretty nice place in leesburg called holiday travel resort for rv's and travel trailers!! great access to the chain of lakes from there!
There is a newer campsite on Rodman Resevoir. From there you can fish Rodman, the Oklawaha River and the St. John's River. Closest town of any size is Palatka.

Lakeland is 155 miles south of Palatka. I geuss I would call it south central. Palatka is south of Jacksonville about 63 miles.
