Thread: Lake Monroe bait shop

Is there a bait shop close to Lake Monroe I-4 ramp? I called Gander Mountaion, but they nolonger open the bait early.Opens at 9:00 with the rest of the store.

I understand that the ACE Hardware store on highway 46 is open early, has a live bait shop.
Store is on the RIGHT HAND side of the road, maybe ONE-HALF mile going toward Mt. Dora (GOING WEST).
I have not stopped there for bait, but there others on here that stop for bait. They may chime in here and give their take on the store.

I live in Sanford in the winter, there is a bait shop at the Sanford side boat ramp (Chuck's).
Also Baggs Produce is a bait shop on Sanford side at 46 and Sanford ave.

Ace opens a 7am, Gander opens at 6am Fri.-Sat.-Sun., and Downtown boat ramp (right on the water) opens at 6am. I don't know the time on Baggs, Sr46 (25thSt.) and Sanford av. Also on SR46 about 4 to 5 miles east of Sanford is Johnson's and they open at 6am. On 17-92 near SR434 is Bitters open at 6am Hope this helps. Good luck and post a report, I'm going over next week.

Thanks Speckanator, I have an update on Gander. I called Gander today and they do not open the bait shop at 6 anymore. They said that there was not enough business to warrant the early opening. Now the bait shop opens at 9. with the rest of the store.
