    Default Just a rant/vent

My boat set up the entire month of August not getting used (very rare and a cardinal sin I know) and when I went to take it out in Sept it would not work right. Took it to the shop and took dude forever to fix it(2 weeks) but he said she's running great now. well this morning I drive from Lake City to Quincy to fish Talquin. Launch boat and bam motor still want crank. so after 4hours round trip, 2 weeks in the shop, and a $400 repair bill the boat is still doing the same flipping thing Sorry no report from "T" but Rusty said they had picked up first part of the week. Boat going back to shop Monday and hopefully be fixed SOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

    Default Something simple

Like make sure your kill switch is all the way out. I thought i had a problem just like what you're talking about. I took it to my tech and he showed me that my kill switch holder wasn't holding my switch all the way out and the motor would crank but not fire up. Replaced the holder not the switch and never had a problem with that motor again. Damn sure didn't cost me $400. I gave him a couple bags of fillets and he called it even.

Kill switch and fuses were the first things I checked. Im usually good with motors but this one is screwed up beyond my expertise.

Your choke switch could not be working if it is turning over and not starting . Also check your stater if no spark. When you are going to let your boat sit up even when using your boat get a can of sea foam i guarantee you the best stuff on the market for boats, cars, motorcycles, etc etc......

Check that gas. It has ethanol in it. Sea Foam or Stabil helps.

Run seafoam w/ every fill up, it will crank and run for 5-10 sec but thats all. I paid $400 to have it fixed last week and nothing changed. I have class at 8 this morning so Im going to drop it back off on the way to class.

All that had been done. Turns out it that 2 of the carbs were sticking open. Its a fairly common problem that Ive heard of several times before but just didnt think about it until this morning when I droped her back off. Went by this afternoon and she was pering like a kiten just needed a little fine tuneing and she'll be fine. Should have it back tomorrow.
