    Default Horse Shoe Lake report

Caught a few today in Horse Shoe Lake (off Lake Carlton), but lost twice as many. Just couldn't keep them hooked. My brother's holding his 14" slab he caught on a green tube. Saw several boats crappie fishing in Dora and Beauclair on the way over there, so I think the season is heating up all over!

Don't judge folks by their relatives!

Man, now don't that look tasty.
A gun in hand is a lot better than a cop on the phone.

So, I take it that the water is high enough to go through the small canal now?

More like a ditch than a canal. Yes you can get through it. It's about 1' in some places, but you can ease through it.

Thanks, May give it a try at the end of Oct. Was camping at Tremble park two weeks ago and a few folks were trolling but nobody was catching. I am new to this site and have not fished specks in years, but this site has really got my ears perking up.

Two weeks ago the bite was hard to come by and the fish were small. It seems like in the last week I've started catching more and bigger fish. Give it another try and I think you'll be surprised. Don't forget the upcoming Slabfest.
