Default St. Johns last week

Fished St. Johns last week from Riviera Marina in DeLand. Weather was great. Fished hard all week, caught few (best day was 17 on Monday, 2/9). We come down from KY every year for a week and this was the least productive week we've had in 10 years. Still better than working. Cannot wait till next year.

Great to see the St John still gets some action for out of state. Thanks for the post dorsal. Normally if the bite isn't great in the river the best thing is to head out on the lake and drift some open water. Don't know if Monroe or George is closer to where you are but it might be worth trying it one day. Just head out in the morning and look for boats out on the lake and follow them.

Nothing happening in Monroe or in the river north of there either. Must be the front. Tried jigging, minnows, and trolling. We saw a few boats but they were moving all over also, so I think they were hunting like us. Should have fished from the dock! Going again Wednesday after the weather clears and the wind settles. I'll post another report then. Oh yea, we caught 1 small one.

The bite was better today on Lake Monroe...caught 3, then the wind blew us out. I don't see any break until early next week. We trolled the east side and in front of Ft. Melon park. The weather has been difficult for the last three weeks. It's gotta get better someday.
