Depends alot on the weather, but they will start to pick up in October usually. In the past, I usually dont start back at Talquin until late Nov or in Dec because I am deer hunting. But this year I am leaving deer hunting on the back burner and will probably start in October. Keep watching the GA and FL board...You'll know when they start.

Kajun...........probably biting some now if you can stand the heat. I agree w/ TnT, October is a good starting point, especially if you are planning on trolling. I'm making tentative plans to go down the 3rd or 4th week of October and try them myself.

I am going down to Talquin this weekend and staying at lake Talquin Lodge. Too hot for me to fish, but I'll be checking out what is being caught. Just going to check a few things out to get ready for this Fall.

TnT.....You ever did any night fishing down there? I've been thinking about it, but don't hear many folks talking about it. I see folks set up for it as we come in from late spring trolling right at dark. I guess between the navagational hazards and the gators, it kind of keeps a lot of people from going at night?

I did get to Talquin this weekend. Did not talk to anyone that was crappie fishing, but there were some good catches of bream and the bass were doing fairly well. I saw a couple of boats trolling early this morning, but I have no idea how they did.Another 6-7 weeks and it should start getting interesting.

Thanks for the info TNT. It is starting to cool off at night in Indiana and I hope it start to move south ot Weiss. Oct. 5 seems like a long way off. Counting the days. Took my nephew catfishing last Thursday, caught 8 nice ones, largest 2-3 lbs.

Went down this past weekend to get my camper set up....Was too busy to fish and to tired to nightstalk. I talked with one fellow who done good Saturday night. I did troll for a couple of hours Sunday, but that was mainly marking the channel on my GPS at a couple of places I like to fish. Caught some crappie, but nothing worth writing home about...Oct is getting closer tho
