Default Hey Central Fla ! ! !

So what's happenin ????
gkvette, B8Fish, the rest of ya'll ????
Where's ya'll Post Spawn crappie posts ?????
I been watchin but see no posts ! !
I thought you guys were going to keep up the good fight and keep it going ???
Are ya tellin me you're catchin fish but just don't have the energy to post a post ????
Well, I been catfishin, not fishin as much as I'd like but a little (using worms), got a few nice catfish, but no Crappie for sure, and no shellcrackers, BUT, am supposed to travel south to Miami/Garcia lake and meet up with a catfish1.com friend who is going to take me bluegill fishin in the mornin, plus we'll have out catfish lines too.
Will give a report when I get back, etc.
I got to thinkin, am I wrong to just fish the crappie spawn only, as opposed to fishin them all year long, who's doin the species more damage ???
I don't know, just know that I get tired of fishin and not catchin any, so I move on to another species, etc.
Well, hey, we all got our particular ways, etc.
Have a nice day
Danny

Hi Phantom309,

We have had a hard time here where I am and are still in an ongoing drought. The fishing became poor due to low water levels and I really haven't been very much. Waiting for rain and the water to come back up mostly. I have caught a few bream and LMB lately but not much and mostly small ones. No Specks this season so far for me and we are warming up now so its mostly bream fishing for me until next fall and winter. I really don't like catching Specks in the warm weather and warmer water as their meat is too soft. The bodies of water around here that are fed by a water source are the best bet right now until the water levels come back up. Wish I could give you better news for my area.

Well Phantom, I have been pretty lazy the last month or so but did get out yesterday for awhile . I went to Lake Gentry. Caught 11 nice ones that would average about 12". Strangely, I caught very few under 10". Gentry has two deep holes, in the first one, I started catching them at about 15-16 feet, had three on at one time, Then, the Bass started hitting my jigs, must have caught 10 or 12 before going to the other hole as the Crappie simply quit biting there. I am not sure if the Bass had anything to do with that but I have my suspicions. I picked up a few more Crappie in the second hole before giving in to the wind. I might try Alligator or Lizzie next week if I can get a day with moderate wind.

Mornin guys;
Appreciate the comeback.
Am leaving in a little while to do the Miami/Garcia thing.
Looks like a big thunderstorm is heading there too. Will probably get a little wet, am prepared though.
Talk about low water, I was going to put in at Hwy #50 (St. John's) the other day and there wasn't enough water to float my boat there !!
I took off north to Hwy #46 and put it there and managed to run aground a few times right in the main channel, indeed the water levels are waaaay down.
Tx's for the report Bob (dixieangler).
AG, I can believe ya'll are still catchin down there in those deep lakes, is just a journey for me to drag my boat down there, congrats are in order ! !
I just got this one last fresh water trip to do, will be back in the IRL next weekend.
Fisher Dan, send me a PM so I can call you, etc.
Have a nice day everyone,
Danny

i got a few NICE gills last saturday(9"-9.5") that made a great dinner. i havent caught good crappie in quite a while, months actually. i get a straggler here and there, mostly small though. i was hoping to catch some nice crappie before it gets too hot and they get soft. my grandpa was telling me about how they get soft in hot weather but bream will stay nice all year. i'll keep hunting bream for now.

I must admit that I have slack on my post but, I will tell you I have only took off, four weekends of crappie fishing since feb. We got beat pretty good on John's lake last month. But we did find fish and lots of them that was fun! The guys that won were able to get out of the wind and catch 1lb + fish. They fished the sharp drops in the lake spidder rigging suspended fish. I am going to the Kissimmee River to fish with George Parker, this weekend. I am getting schooled on deep water jigging. I really haven't got a clue on what I am in store for but I can't wait! I will report back after that. Glad everyone seems well and are catching fish. keep your bait wet!

Default Any one get any gator permits this week?

Still here but not fishing. I have been messing with fish though. Built myself a 75 gallon stand and aquarium for my Central/South American Cichlids. Maybe try and head out to do some night fishing after we get some rain cause I don't want to run aground in these shallow lakes.

Any one get any gator permits this week?
