Default Its sad to see :(

It looks like most everyone in this area is gonna move on to another species and I won't get to read many of the local spec catchin' stories. I will miss you guys. See you next year. But in the mean time, I will still post my catches of the summer and show you that you don't give up on them you just move and find them in deeper water John's lake is next month for FCA. Does any one have info on where to start looking for spec there. This is the first trip there for me.

B8 that's funny to me that people only spec fish during the spawn and then on to other things, but then again if was living back down there I'd probably be hitin the big ponds as well, used to love snook fishin as a kid around St Lucie and Jupiter.

I will still be around but dont look forward for any local reports, as I will be doing an internship in Alabama this summer so most of my reports will be from there or my home state of Mississippi. MAn I am so pumped to be able to go home for a full summer and fish the weekends with my dad(when I'm not working of course) and fish all the lakes I know instead of trying to learn some of these places down here. Hopefully next year I will get to go down to the town of Lake Placid and fish whatever lake it is down there as an old man in my deer camp back home in Mississippi lives there on the lake and fishes alot.

I am with you B8fish. Some of my best Crappie catches have been in the summer. Looking forward to more of it. I think we are fortunate to have some deep lakes around St. Cloud, which makes the tightline trolling a lot of fun. A little diversity is also good. I got in on the Bluegill spawn a couple weeks ago and there is something to be said about nailing those big Copperheads the size of saucers and dinner plates. But the spawns are over and the Crappie are starting to show up in the deeper waters. I caught 11 nice keepers yesterday on Lake Lizzie at about 16 feet. Things are looking up.

Im sure glad to see some of ya will hang in there with me. And I'm only joking about the other species. Snook fishing the inlets in june and july is one of the best fishing you can ever have anywhere! Sure wish we could keep one that time of year. But, man I love to get on those summer specs. You move out to the lake about an hour before sun rise, Get all set up and then just listen and look for the bait pods. If you have a cast net with small holes throw it out and get some oh the bait the are feeding on. "Match the Hatch" for you fly fisherman. There is always a point in the day when fish start pounding the bait. When they are in that frenzy, they barely even notice you. Hope we can hear some of those stories over the next couple months.
