Default St. Johns / Econ / Lake Harney Mar 23/27

Last Sunday the specks were few and far between in all of the usual staging and spawning areas well upstream from Lake Harney, so this morning I headed out to the lake. I caught six throw backs and keepers in about 2 hours trolling. They all hit on different colors of jigs with and without minnows. Not much to work with there. Only the first two hit with any aggression, the rest would swim with the bait and barely bend the rod. I picked up five more in the immediate upstream section of the St. Johns. Three of the five were shallow, possibly late spawners or just feeding, none however were darkened males. The water temperature dropped back into the sixties with the cold nights this week, but the water was nearing 70 this morning. With the warming trend on the way I'm sure we won't be in the 60s again until Oct or Nov.

Mornin Dan;
Finally, I made it to another three day weekend, getting to where I kinda like these things, almost feels like I have a personal life.
Well, ya done OK as far as bringin home some fish, these days are gonna be somewhat touchy, tryin to find where they are.
Normally I'm back in the salt water by now, but, have had such a good year in fresh (tx's John), just gotta keep on em.
If I can connect with tjj we'll be out there where you/me/Spectracker were awhile back (tommorrow mornin) and on out in the lake (weather permitting).
Yep, I'm thinking that this is the last of the cold spells for the year too, get ready for the summer heat.
Have a nice day,
Danny
