Sarasota in late April?

Hey guys, just was wondering if there would be a good lake to hit this time of year for crappie in or around Sarasota? Thanks in advance.

I wish that I could help you as much as you helped me I am stuck in SW florida Ft Myers area and I am looking for some areas to fish near here. its ok if you are a salt water man but I dont know much about the fresh water here. Ron

I've been catching a few at Lake Manatee. That's about 25 minutes northeast of Sarasota. I've done pretty well on No. 12 nymphs.
