right now it is tough and I would recomend going to west lake or kissimmee for the best bite. I offer a guide service if you are interested. I will try and get a better report for you by the end of the week.

Default last year

Look back through the posts from last year around March / April and I think one of the members was really catching them in the Kissimmee grass at the south end of the lake just outside the lock? That could get you started. I've caught some in Toho trolling deep open water between the islands in the north half of the lake as well. And deep water on Toho means 8-10 feet. Good Luck.

Default We caught them like crazy last year!

Hey man,

We were fishing Southport last year the last week of March and the first week of April and were catching them in the grass on jigs. We were averaging about 25-40 per day with the average size being 12-14 inches. We were fishing the lake side of the grass away from the locks.

I have recently moved to Gainesville and haven't been to Toho lately, but I would expect the big females to be moving in about the time you are there.
Good luck and keep us posted.
