A great day, great weather, great food, great friends and a great SLABFEST! Not our biggest crowd, but certainly an outstanding slabfest. The STOUT SEVEN goes to Chunky and his fishing partner (wife) Trudy at 7.2 lbs. They also had the biggest fish, a whopping 1.75lbs. While the rest of us we’re looking and moving and changing colors, Chunky’s team went to the channel and slow trolled with green curly tails and loaded their bucket with SLABS. Congratulations Chunky and Trudy! The food was delicious, as usual, with up2specks fixing his world famous corn puffs. In addition to plenty of fish we enjoyed potato salad, cole slaw, beans, brownies, and pound cake. Chuckauten took pictures and he will post them as soon as he gets a chance. Some discussion was held about future events and hopefully we’ll get some suggestions and input from everyone on this topic. Some ideas were, new locations, posting schedule of locations and dates, having some weekday fests, small donations per boat to pay for supplies, and any other ideas you might have to make the slabfests better. Time to start thinking about NOVEMBER.
Thanks to everyone for making this a great slabfest.
Mike

Tx's for the report Mike.
Sorry I missed it, had a lot of catching up to do around here, plus, my job has me really dragging these days...
Finally got to sleep in this morning, what a relief, but, was missing the fishing by 9am......

I would like to second that. Congrats to everyone. I might be fishing on Thursday this week and any hot locations would be helpful. I'll be up for another slabfest maybe toward the end of the year.
Thanks Mike for the great write-up and making Trudy and I look like real fishermen!
Danny we missed you - we'll see you at the slabfest.
Here's a couple of pictures on how we started and finished our day -
For those hot spot seekers, we fished about a mile south of the old powerplant - water is about 9 to 11 feet deep - good luck!

The pictures have been sent to Mike. My internet was down. Had a great time fishing with a great group of fishermen. Small group, but a lot of fun. The food was great.
Looking forward to the next one.
Chuck
