Default Boat Launch Idiots (BLI's)

The Year: 2005
The Month: April
The Place: Crystal Lake, Dane County, WI

A buddy and I parted for Crystal Lake at 4:30am on brisk April morning. Heard the crappie bite was turning on after ice out. 2 hours later we arrive at the public access and apparently weren't the only ones to catch wind of a solid bite. We were 4th or 5th in line to launch. Not a big deal - we transferred the gear from the truck to the boat prepping the boat for launch. My buddy jumped back in the truck and I headed for the port-a-potty to relieve myself from the coffee on the ride up. While doing so I heard a host of screaming and yelling from the direction of the launch pad. Finished my business and stuck my head out the door to see what was going on......Turns out a someone had actually backed their rig in the water and UNHOOKED the trailer from their Suburban, then proceeded to pull out trailer less! The screaming voices heard were a pair of individuals next in line yelling at the Suburban to STOP! Worst of all there was dude in the boat - still tied down to the unhooked trailer in the water turning the engine over. We didn't stick around to see how they were going to remedy their small problem. Continued north to Lake Wisconsin for the day.

PS. Not everybody in the land of cheese lacks this much matter between the ears.

One of my favorite things to do is to sit near a busy ramp on a holiday weekend just to watch the antics. One never knows what they will get to see.

Money can buy you a big shinny new boat but it can't buy you the good sense to operate it.

Obviously something pretty good! People like that should not be allowed to breed stupidity back into the gene pool.

here is a recent one from Lake Lanier, he fell out of the truck while trying to grab his dog. His cadillac esclade hybrid was completely under water over night till the divers shoed up with the tow truck. thats him and his best friend on the dock. lol

Default The craziest............

One I ever saw was at Lake Jocassee 2 summers ago on a holiday weekend.......
Wife driving the boat.............husband at the winch.........she nails the pontoon and parks hubby and boat in the back of the Expedition through the back glass...........

Needless to say..............trip to the hospital via medivac ensued....

Always reminds me of a rednecks famous last words.."Hey Y'all.....watch this!"
