I'm originally from south Louisiana (below new orleans) All we ever call them is Sac a lait.
Well moving to South Mississippi and living here now going on 10 years it took me forever to find out what these locals were calling a white pearch.
I was fishing one day and a guy rode up to me and asked if I was catching any white pearch? I said, " No, but I can't keep these Sac A Lait off of my line."
He told me that it was the same damn thing!![]()
It all depends on which part of Louisiana you are from. Certain areas they are crappie, others they are white perch and still others they are sacalait. I guess It takes a coona$$ to understand the irony LSUGuy.
I release all my fish... just before my fingers touch the grease.
i dont have any idea what your talkin about
or as to why you think this guy was lil off his rocker
but im glad somebody cleared that up
hahaha
I think people not knowing the real name of the fish they are going after is one of the most ironic things in fishing. In Missouri, I've never heard people call blue-gill "perch", but I've seen them call Green Sunfish perch quite often.
Now, when the serve "walleye" in restaurants, does anyone know what species it REALLY is?
