    Default Shouldn't have ask

Few years back, my older fishing buddy and I were fishing on a local lake. We had mainly been fishing at night since the day bite was slow. We camped and got into some big ones one night and filled the chest. Come morn we pulled up to the camp to get breakfast at the small restaurant. Looking out the window , we saw the camp manager had brought several skeptical locals to peek our fish. Evidently , he had been telling folks how well we had been doing last few days. We were the only outsiders in the restaurant , and it wasn't long before I overheard a table of four putting two and two together. The one lady kept saying ,"Well if you don't ask them I will". Finally she stood up , you could hear a pin drop. Since they were behind my buddy , he didn't have a clue what was coming. I tried not to grin or let on , but I knew this was going to be good!
She waltzed right up and said " Well , y'all must be them fellers that ketching all them fish ." Boy I was about to explode, cause I knew my buddy and I knew what was coming!
She put her arm around his neck, leaned over real close and real sweetly said" Now,I know you'll tell Me where you are catching all them crappie at."wait....... it's coming! My buddy hesitated and finally nodded , looked up at her and said ......
    "Right there in the lip!"
    Whole restaurant erupted in laughter!
Everyone but one. And SHE WAS MAD!
I still laugh every time I remember that story!

Every day with that fishing buddy was an adventure. We have a younger set of boys fishing with us now, but we still go through them old stories when we get together . It's a reminder that I'm now the old guy and the younger ones need help making memories too.

Yea, I know the area. It says Tn. as my state now, but my first 61.5 yrs out of 63 was in La. I had a camp on TB for a few years, but lived in the BR area. Born in Morgan City.

So that must mean you still have the accent! Thanks for the input. That lake I was talking about was black lake , campti. Really nice fish there. We ran yo-yos and Day fished there for years . My older boys all have been initiated (fell out in freezing weather ) on that lake
