I have collected knives for my grandson since he was born. Well, actually I have several I gave him that I had for years. We have Bucks, Queen Steel, Schrades...all kinds. Even got an old Boker hawkbill. My best find was in Galax, Virginia at a yard sale a few years back. I bought him 80 Genuine Leatherman knives..all different sizes for $40.00. All total he probably has close to 200 knives.

well after reading all the posts on knifes looks like im the oddball here cause when i carry a pocket knife it is my j.a. henkels.but i also have a case aqnd a kissing crane
I got all kinds of knifes, I have been carring this same knife in my pocket for over 20 years now, Old timer, and it has got some history behind it too! Left it on a job site one day while fixing a busted pipe, worried me to death til I went back and got it. Dropped it in the river, 5 feet deep, Got in the water and stayed till I found it. About 20 minutes, Picked it up with my toes!
Carried a knife all through school, from 5 th. grade on. Used it all the time in my welding class, 10.11, and `12 grade. Everyone new I had it. Many teachers new it also, all that was ever said to me was keep it in my pocket. Now they have metal detecters at every door, can not go in the court house with out going through one, I have tried several time to go in the court house with it, each time they would not let me in with it. Times have changed!
My latest purchase... a Kershaw Ken Onion 1660. It has a staight blade with no hook at all. Great for "ribbing" fillets!![]()
CATCH A BIG-UN
For 35 years I have had the same Buck pocketknife in my pocket. I will be passing it on to my son. I am careful when I sharpen it and try to conserve as much metal as I can. The blades show some wear as would be expected, but they will outlast me and my son.

Freedom isn't free
Toted pocket knives since I was a boy. Stopped carry 'em when our plant changed to friction brake pads (ruined a few good knives) about 15 years ago. My knife of choice is a full size Case Sod Buster with a carbon steel blade and I cant find that steel on that knife anymore, reasonable anyway, and I didnt want to ruin my last one.
I have 4 Gerbers currently and 1 Uncle Henry plus about half a dozen give aways that I got when I purchased Grizzly smokeless tobacco. Also have Gerber multitool that makes every fishing trip. Carry my Gerber except for plane rides.

Great Thread
I am one of those guys that losses them ... Old Timers, Uncle Henrys .. had a little lock back Buck that I really enjoyed .. came up missing .. I sold all different kinds and some where along the line I had a line of cheap imports to sell and had samples of most of them in my pocket now is the one I have had the longest ... went to the dealer for 1.25 ... made in China .. Stainless .. easy to sharpen .. looks like a stained wood handle .. 2 blades .. looks like a Case ... after writing this I will more than likely have it come up missing ....
