Lucky
Me and my brother was slow trolling dam in about 15ft of water catching whites. we were both using two rods, while he was hooked up on a white he laid his other pole on the deck. you guessed it, now in went his other pole. he had just got it the day before, it was a custom made 5ft crappie rod with a pinnacle reel. we tried for a couple of hours with no success to retrieve it.the following day we went back to the same area trolling cranks and he hooked up. brought about a 10 inch white to the boat, all i heard was "thats my jig". sure enough it was. pulled up the line and the pole. cleaned it up and worked like new.now i have the pole kept away as my brother has passed on. god rest his sole. every once in a while i take it out and catch a few fish on it knowing it would make him proud, and i get a pretty big kick out of it every time i catch a fish on it i think of this story.
