Default Wednesdays pics

this week was a little on the slow side but we did manage to put a couple nice stringers of specks in the kayak. On Wednesday I took a co-worker out for most of the day. The morning was very uneventful so around 2:00 pm we loaded up and headed for one of my honey holes. Well things started out slow there also so I figured it was just one of those days but was not ready to give up. We had put 5 specks on the stringers in the first hour or so but I knew we could do better than that, I just had to figure out where they were or what they were doing. Well looking at the wind change that had occured over the previous days it dawned on me that they might very well have pulled off the shallows temporarily and shifted into slightly deeper water to stay out of the hard waves and current. So we paddled over to my favorite logs under my favorite willow tree and proceded to put a hurtin on some respectable crappie.

Default Are the males starting to turn?

The ones I've been getting lately have been REALLY black. Sign that the spawn is close now.
