I went out in in the afternoon for some monster big fat over sized crappie and when i got there the lake was smooth , hardly any wind until i was on the water for about 1/2 hour, i think my buddy the wind was waiting for me.
I started to launch my boat and noticed a boat that just took off was coming back and it looked like it was in trouble, smoke was pouring off it and i could see the guy trying to splash water on it. There wasn't any fire they said the wires had started to melt, i was ready to call for the little red truck.
So the wind was not in my favor so it made for a really had time to fish, i was able to land some nice crappie along with some small ones, i spent most of my time trying different areas and I'm starting to get to know that lake some what. Along with the crappie i caught some perch one measured 9" and caught a rock bass that measured 10 1/2", that thing really put up a good battle, i took my time hoping it was a big crappie.
As i started to go up to the boat launch i seen a guy going up to his truck to take out his boat but as he was doing that the wind was taking it out in the lake so i ended up taking him to his boat. We exchanged fish stories that we had for the day and he pulled out a 17" small mouth from his live well, i asked him if he knew that the season wasn't open and he said What season
The fish i caught went back for another day and i left with no monster crappie
