made it back late sunday night, longgggggg drive 14hrs!!
tough tournament, we found some good fish on monday, had a small area that we were getting decent fish while pulling crankbaits, jointed shad raps. and we caught a couple good fish in some nearby timber, so the plan was to fish timber for an hr or so then go to pulling cranks.......... so much for the plan.... guess all the spider riggers found our fish also, there must have been 30 boats in our area, could not even try to troll, it was only a 3 or 4 acre area, and to top it off, seems like each boat had to toss out a bouy or two, liked they owned that spot!!!!!!!!!!!, looking back on it we should have just done it anyway, that is what we did sat., friday we weighed 6lbs even, and sun, 6.88 even though we had our three biggest fish die on sat would have weighed in just under 8lbs had we not lost those three fish.
all in all we had fun but were dissapointed in our finish,
sure was interesting tring to find good fish in over 75miles of river lake and bayous and after all the rain they had last week, dodging floating logs and brush
I will try and post some picks of the areas we fished later

Default Welcome home.

Good to see ya made it back safe. I don't know your last name, but was looking at the 1st day results yesterday and the total weights, etc. Were those weights somewhat typical, or not?

Don

team ,meyers and kellogg(steelguy,AKA john meyers)semi-pro division.
I would say the results were about normal, miss. has some real good fish in it, although the lakes we fished, columbus, aberdeen and aliceville, were more river than lakes, and the fish did run a bit smaller than most miss lakes.
they sure are a LOT different than our lakes around here, and the fish move around alot this time of year, they follow the schools of shad,
we found a LOT of fish up some of the creeks, they just did not have the size we needed, three days of pre-fishing is just not enough time to find the big fish unless you get lucky.or are REAL good, guess we were not quite good enough
