Back in the saddle.

Well got the truck back from the body shop on Tue. so natch Wed. evening mama and I had to get our fishin' fix.

Made it to Eagle lake by 6 pm and fished until 9:15 or so. Fish were best in 12-14FOW hangin' 6-8 down. We worked up the west shoreline hitting the swim platforms real good. Those pesky specks love to hang under the platforms. I can usually pick up a couple on each platform. All fish were C&R. We caught and released 25-30. All my crappie were 6-8" 'cept for one that I had to field judge as it went bouncin' off the gunwhale. Shoulda grabbed the net. Prolly went 11-12". Mama was just slammin' the gills and sunfish in the back of the boat. She's a worm fisher. Some of those were respectable too.

Had a great time and the weather was dandy.

Hey Don is that a Wally Marshall crappie pole I see in the background? I bought a 14' and it is great! We hit Wamplers Lake Thursday night. The first 5minutes we picked up one 18" bass and then they shut off. Marking fish in
30' of water. Nothing in the shallows. No crappie.
Jet skiis were a BIG headache plus one drag boat. Anybody ever fish Kent Lake by Brighton? I heard it has a 25 MPH speed limit to keep the waves down. I'm goona give it a try. It's just a pain to have to drive 40 miles to get to an inland lake.

No Mike I run (4) BnM 13.5' telescopics when I do my spider rigging. They have Buck's minireels on them that work great for crappie fishing.

I have only fished lake Chemung over by Brighton. Never do very well tho. Crappie are small that I have caught.

Greetings Don,
now though. I picked up a Wally Marshall crappie pole and reel at Basspro last spring. I really like the 12' long rod. When I was 12 years old I put an open face spinning reel on a fly rod and could cast all the way across the Raisin River. I thought I was superman. I'm gonna try that again. Never been to Lake Chemung. Friday is Tiff's 59 birthday. We're going to try to get to Sterling State Park for a couple of days if she will go.
