Has anyone taken there foot pedal apart on a Minnkota? My foot pedal only wants to turn one direction most of the time and to turn the other way I either keep tapping it until it engages or stand on it and sometimes it turns. I took mine apart and saw the little white block that slides and controls left/right function. Is this suppose to be greased and if so what would be a good lubricant to use since I am not sure WD 40 would hold up over long period of time. Any suggestions would be appreciated or any reports of same issue and how it was fixed. Also the Remote control works just fine so I know its not the motor it self its just the pedal is the issues and the white block slide
I had the same problem before and I cleaned the connection where foot hooks to pig tail with cotact cleaner. this worked for awhile but later on I ended up replacing the foot control about $60 bucks.

Unfortunately those pedals have a gigh failure rate, especially with the older motors. I went thru that but mine was still under warranty.

I had the same problem with mine. The contact was shorted or burned out. You can buy a replacement circuit board but they cost about the same as a new foot pedal.
I had no turn problem with my PD 40 (new) on my old boat. Sent to Griz Jig.
Fixed under warranty muy rapido.

I went with a hand control box with a rheostat for speed and a rocker switch for steering...Threw my foot pedal away!!!!
