I was wondering if anybody has tried the kit from humminbird that is suppose to help with the interference from the trolling motor that shows up on a fish finder ?
They sent me the full-bore, whole hog kit, and I installed it all -
it was worth doing, for sure. And I thank Joby for helping
It cleared up several problems, got rid of my aerator pumps showing up
on df (interference, I mean) hid most of the cross-talk when I'm running
a Vexilar at the same time (107-400 freq) and I'm gonna say HELPED with
my original issue, troll motor interference. I can still get blue "grass"
on the screen if I'm in deeper water 15-20' or more and tm is on 20-40 percent... Can't run my sensitivity quite as high as I'd like either.
But it's plenty liveable.
I'm running MK universal sonar, so I wasn't really too surprised it didn't
completely clear up, being that close to the windings
of the motor I'm surprised it works well as it does![]()

Yeah they sent me a box full of stuff to try..It had a new power cable and some metal rings that it said to use if you were using interlink which I am not. And they also sent me a thing that you could use as a boat anchor to go between the foot pedal and the plug on the trolling motor. It says in the directions to screw it to the floor....NOT... I am not putting that thing in the front floor of my boat !! I think i may order me a Lowrance and give it a try.. Thanks for the reply...
Its been reported that people have been able to eliminate interference by running a seperate ground wire to the TM's motor casing. You might try a temp wire and see if that helps. Run it from the TM's plug to the motor's housing.

My troller is a Minn Kota and that big resistor fits right up inside the housing under the foot pedal. Depending on your brand troller you might look to see if it will fit. It's like the hole was made for it.
The quality of the SI was awful until HB sent the kit and how it's like HD TV.
Best of luck
Soak em if you got em
I have a 957 and a997 don't seem to have any interference when I run the 200 freq. but if I change to the dual freq then I get a good bit of interference....is this what ya'll are talking about or do you have it all the time?
