Whats the difference? 997c, 981, 987c??
What is the difference? do they work? are they worth a dime.. the latter of the three. I see where I can pick one up for WAY cheaper and I figured there was a reason that you can get them so cheap.
thanks for your help!

Aekhoff,
The 981 and 987 are the older model ‘first generation’ Side Imaging units that we produced. They are no longer in production and used some different frequencies than the Side Imaging units we now produce do. The 981 was a sonar only unit that is GPS capable (but will not show maps). The 987 is a combo sonar-GPS unit.
The 997 is a unit that we currently produce. It has a larger display than the 981/987 which is more sunlight viewable and uses our “High Definition” Side Imaging (HDSi) sonar frequencies.
If you want more detail than that I can provide it. Just stopped by this afternoon because I had the spare time to do so (don’t tell my boss! :D ). So if you want any further info just send it to my e-mail address below.
