Thread: Minn Kota Terrova 55 AP

I thank everyone who replied to my post concerning a new TM to help with my sore legs. I bought the Minn Kota Terrova 55 AP. My kids bought me a co-pilot remote ( just the remote). Does it work with the TM as it came, or do I now have to buy the reciever and put it on the TM. Thank you in advance.

You will need the receiver to use the remote. Did you order the tm with the ap built in? You must not have since you didn't mention it. The ap will cost you $199 pretty much everywhere you look (just bought one at Christmas). Take the remote that you got back and put that money towards it. You will get a remote with the kit.

Yes im pretty sure the autopilot is built in, at least from the controlls on the foot pedal. But does that allow the copilot remote to work. Im fairly confused on this?

Auto Pilot is built in.

What you need is a "Co-Pilot" system. You could keep the remote that you have as a "Spare" or try to return it and put the money toward the Co-Pilot. The Co-Pilot system comes with the reciever, 3 rod holders and a remote. They run $199 most places. Installation is super easy...

Auto Pilot has nothing to do with allowing the Co-Pilot to work.

I have a Terrova 80 AP and have just installed the Co-Pilot. I love it.

Your really going to enjoy the copilot system. It's the closest thing to having a guide driving your boat.
