    Default Need a little help

    Ive got a handheld GARMIN e-trex legend that i use to mark my honey holes fishing and hunting.When i power it up and it starts searching for satelites the screen goes blank and a blue line appears on the screen.The unit want turn off or do anything I have to take the batteries out to turn it off,any ideas on what has happened.sure hope I havent lost all my way points

    that don't sound good at all....I have one also...I am going to start me a spreadsheet and write all of my waypoints down. Good luck

    Do you have the latest update? It's a 08 update. Maybe your problem, maybe not. Had a problem with my 72 and the update fixed it.

    So you have fresh batteries (not meaning to insult your intelligence) ? But stuff happens sometimes. I'll bet your waypoints are safe, but if I were you, I'd speak to a 'real person' at Garmin and get them to walk you through the fix. Could just be a software glitch. Best o' luck.

    Might also check the battery contacts for corrosion but I don't think that is the problem.

    Well i dont know if this is the right thing to do or not but i disabled WAAS and it started working just fine so I then went to garmin and downloaded the lastest version hope this takes care of my problem
