797c2 Question
Just got one on my new boat, it is mounted on the console. Does HB make anything that would allow me to swap the unit back in forth from the console to the front deck ?
I have the Hot Spots chip, just put it in the slot and it will come up ?

All you need is an additional mount, power cord, and transducer. You will also need an additional GPS antenna if your's doesn't have the internal antenna. Or.... you can run the antenna to an Interlink like mine. And Yes if you put the chip in it should come up on your screen.

So there is no way to split from console and go to bow with same unit? I know you can with the gps, the power, and why not with tranducer? Do they not make a spliter for a transducer?

I don't know abour HB, but Lowrance makes a switchbox for ducers and units as well.

I'm pretty sure they make a switch that you could use but... if you have the transducer mounted on the stern that is where you'll be reading from. In other words, if you move the unit from the console to the bow and your over a brush pile you won't be able to see it until the back of your boat is over it. That will be confusing as heck.
The switch I'm talking about ( Fishfinder Switch
) will allow you to use 2 units with 1 transducer.
I would just go with 2 transducers if it were me.

Thanks Wiskers, thats what I want to do. I'll still have a lesser HB unit mounted on the TM . I just want to be able to get the most use from the 797 as possible while trolling.
