    Default Humminbird customer service.&.SI/GPS units

I was in eufaula,AL at Humminbird this morning. My matrix 67 had a puff of smoke and died last week. My screws were loose where the card goes and it was raining when it quit. Water inside..I figured it was fried.
To console myself I decided to try the 797c2 si. I went to pick it up today. I carried the matrix with me just to see what it would cost to fix it. They fixed it FREE! They even updated the to the latest software. The unit is several years old.
I ask about the slow GPS problems on the SI units. They said that my new one will have last weeks update. They said it will be faster than if i had purchesed it earlier and they are working on another update to make it even better..
I got the SI and an interlink to put the matrix up front and the 797c2 on the console. prices were cheaper than I found online.

My Matrix has dual transducers, one dual beam and a wideside. I guess I'll sell the wideside transducer since I have the SI. Or should I keep it?? I really just need the gps and regular sonar on the front.

Well thats good news, first time since 8/28/08 statement that they are really working on it, instead of the these things take time statement. Well good for Hb if that is the case....

Yep, when I had troubles with my little piranha "backup unit"
they were really good to work with. Sent me a new one right out.
And it works as good as stuff that, 10 years ago, cost 3 or 4 times
as much. I like the little feller. See, I ain't always griping

Now my question, what the heck is Dubya munching on there in
