Just saw where for '09 (edit-correction) the HIGH END 700 series birds gonna have two card slots,
and more pixels... so the desireability of mine in the used market just
took a big hit
Think I'll rush out and get new ones on order, got to have the latest and
greatest at all cost.
Yah right. I'm in "waiting mode" to see how the other guys shake out
for '09, sounds like the "L" guys have got a new bag of goodies too.
May go back to a string with a rock on it :D

The L guys need to shape up their customer service and debug their software.
Looks like with the new features the price will be going up also.![]()

I saw that and thought the same thing about the price. I just assumed I was an idiot, like normal and didn't understand, but was affraid to come back here and admit it. You gave me strength Mr. White. LOL.
Well, I'll say this for them on the 797 - they must be listening to the customers....the lack of the second card slot was a big mistake on their first try. More pixels is more better in my book. Now, if this new GPS will just work like it ought to, they'll have done a good job - especially keeping it at the same price. Guess asking them to drop the price would be too much huh.

I did notice in there that they will have a 50 channel GPS receiver
What the heck they need 50 channels for, I don't know, some folks get by
fine with 12but whatever - I haven't spent much time looking
at gps diagnostic screens lately, but back when I did, seemed like usually
only half a dozen or less were in position to lock on at once? Maybe this
is getting ready for the new satellites I hear about...
