Minkota maxum repair question?
Yesterday I smacked the trolling motor causing either a cable slippage or gearing slip. The foot pedal for left turning now will only go straight ahead with the pedal completely toe down. (I could be wrong about left and right setting here at the computer but while on the boat my foot seems to always know which way I want to go even though I'm not sure trying to think about it now. :D) Anyhow I can operate going to the left but not any further left than the straight forward position.
My question is would someone of say a mediocre shadtree mechanic's ability be able to fix this without being required to have some expensive NASA type tool to fix this? I am sure this trolling motor condition/situation has been experienced by some of you folks before. It seems like it just might be a easy fix.
Anyhow thanks for any input on this as to your experiences.
