Thumbs up Good Deal On 1197 SI

Hey guys if anyone is shopping for a new 1197 I found a good deal on Ebay. He has 2 left. Won't last long. Seller has 100% positive feedback.

    $2125 + $20 shipp'n

I asked the guy if the transducer was included and he answered back yes. Everything you need except the NAV pak. Heck for that price you could buy the chip & still come out ahead.

I run from deals that are too good. I would rather pay extra and bypass the gut wrenching wonder if I am getting screwed somehow.

What would you do if you open it and by "NAV pack" he meant GPS antenna and other accessories. Or you power it up and it doesn't come on. Makes my butt hurt.

I don't agree. I buy off Ebay all the time and have received some great deals. Not to say that you can't get screwed but to date I have not. Products can be both bought and sold much cheaper without the overhead of a large retailer in some cases. It all depends on how these units were acquired buy the seller. They should still be under a manufacturers warranty.

Check Lowrance's warranty statement on their website before you buy anywhere other than their authorized retailers.

    Default warranty

If the company you buy from is a HB dealer they will warrant the device, you must show sales slip.

I have also bought stuff on ebay and never had an issue on warranty work (only used warranty once though).

As a matter of fact, I was checking today and I have used this very seller. Had no trouble.

Now I did have a buddy that got burned on a 4-wheeler. He let the guy talk him into sending a money order instead of using Paypal and never sent the 4 wheeler after he got the money. Then put it back up on ebay!

I would'nt want to be him when my buddy get's hold of him. He thinks he's got him tracked down and got the law involved. He better hope the law gets him befor my buddy does!

You stick by the guidelines on ebay and 99.9% of the time you're OK.

Gotta agree that's a good deal, but also gotta agree Ranger. By the time you add in the deductable on my medical insurance for the visits to the Gastroenteraologist for the ulcer treatments while waiting on my unit to arrive, I think I'd rather buy from a reputable dealer.

I've dealt - bought and sold - on Ebay some 80 times or more now. Only had one problem with a guy on a $40 deal. Paypal covered me and I was only out some aggrivation. However, most of my dealings have been in the 20 to 50 range, with two exceptions - a $200 prop and a $600 Laptop. Ate a lot of tums on those purchases. I really don't sweat the small items at all - No real loss if it goes bad, but on the bigger stuff, I get a knot in my stomach pretty quick.

Maybe you're just made of more steel than I am Wiskers. I have been called a Sissy before. LOL.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
