    Default Reporting Equipment Stuff....

I am glad to see everyone reporting the good, the bad and the ugly about these units, etc.

I am not partial to any brand. I just want the stuff to work as advertised. These folks ain't our friends. They just want our money.

    They gonna earn my money.

I think we all benefit from the input we get on these units...I know I do..

And speaking of that, I pulled up the Vexilar website this morning..Do you think the HB & Lowrance flasher screens will be as good as the Vexilar flashers?

I am not for sure DonG. I have my doubts. These graphic units are ok at slow speeds, but really not designed for high speed displays (or shallow water). It takes processor time (real time) to paint a picture on the screen of the imitation flasher and update that picture. Whereas, the Vexilar is a dedicated real time flasher. That is it's sole purpose in life.

    Besides, flashers are cool.

From an ice fishing perspective I have nothing but good to say about Vexilar. My first one was an FL-8 that I picked up used for 90.00. Sold it 8 years later on ebay for 234.00
It was replaced by the FL-18 and finally I ended up with the FL-20. I was equally thrilled with everyone of em. All of them never let me down and I would not even consider going out on the ice without the vex. Other manufacturers may make something just as good but I do not really think it could be better.
