Anyone from Humminbird who would like to come up to Tn and show me how to work the GPS and record a dogleg ditch and stay on the plotted track using the GPS at 4 mph has an open invitation to come and show me up. I will provide room and board and beer and a fishing trip. Your gas.
You show me I am wrong, I will shut up. I am a stand up feller. Ask Wally Marshall. Might even get some folks around here to vouch for me.

The most dissapointing thing about the 797SI that I have is the GPS. I absolutely hate it. They should have paid lowrance for their GPS capabilities!
I actually wish I had 2 787c2 units instead of the 797.
I end up using my Lowrance H20 instead of the HB.

For a long time I ran a 787 and didn't know what everybody was
complaining about - ya'll know I troll mostly, and I thought it worked ok...
but then I got the 797, and I tried to run across brush I'd marked with the
787 to see what it looked like on the SI.
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, you can be a couple
hundred feet or so from a waypoint, start driving straight for it at 3-5 mph,
and the arrow projecting your path will start veering off to one side...
if you start correcting, you will WAY over-correct before the arrow ever
starts coming back over - and by the time you've done this a couple times,
the stupid thing updates, and now it's 75' BEHIND you - AND off to one side
or the other.
It's like some kind of twisted video game that's rigged so you can't win -
no matter what you do, you can't hit the bouncing dot
I've got an antique Globalnav 310 that probably has as much brains as
a flea-market calculator that acts better than this! And not gonna
even mention how bad a $100 E-trex kicks it's butt...
