You get on the water and get aggravated at that thing, the fun will end. Just put it in a box and send it to me. I need one for my Jon boat.

They are nice.

The 1197 adds a whole new meaning to 3g.. Or do I mean 3k!! It was tuff to decide wether I wanted to sleep or go to the lake and mark a few waypoints last night.. Who needs sleep when you got a 1197c si!! If its okay with you I may be asking some questions later.. The 1197 makes my Tracker PT175 look like a jon boat.. I'm going to have to shift the batteries around in the boat to keep the boat from leaning to the port side.. That Hummingbird is a hoss!!! Puts off some serious heat too! Your gonna laugh.. I spent two hours to figure out how to get the time/date to show on the interface and struck out.. Who knows???

I don't have a 1197, I have the 997. I know what all the buttons are about.

Get a power cable and a 12v battery. Take it inside and play with it. Some folks are using their drill motor batteries ( 14-18v).

I fiddle with this kinda stuff alot. Not an expert by any means.

To get the time and date on the screen you will need to turn the unit on and when it boots up press the menu button twice. Then go over to the Setup Tab. Then go down and see of the user mode is set to the advanced mode. If it is set into the advanced mode go on down to where it says Select Readouts. Press your right cursor button when Selects Readouts is highlighted. It will then give you readout options. Here you can get what you are looking for. If you have anymore questions let me know.

the bahemouth is mountend on the the console with a ram mount... I am a little woried about where I have the transducer mounted.. didn't want to drill any extra holes in the hull if I didn't have too.. Hope the foot of the motor doesn't interfere with the si.. Of course I will drill new holes if neccesary.. Looks like it should be far enough away though..

The drill motor batt. is a good idea.. That will come later once I start recording and playing with waypoints on the pc.. Don't have a lap top wich would be easier..

Yeah thx for reminding me... I still have an analog tv.. At least I have my priorities in the right spot... I dont' know If up til' 4am because I was excited about the new toy or if I was having buyers remorse.. I'm still have a lump in my stomach but I'm sure it will subside in a week or two...
