Speck are they the same maps as you would get for the HB. Are they inland maps? I have a 178c on the dash and it works well. Haven't bought the maps for it. Where did you get yours?

I have not purchased the map program. Just do not know anything about it and wanted to ask before I made a purchase. I have the Garmin 60Cx handheld.

More questions, what is HB stand for? Also is it worth getting the lake map for a handheld? They seem not to list a different program for handhelds.

Stands for Humminbird. I knew, when I was looking for maps for my Garmin, that they used different maps. I think the only place I found em' was through Garmin website.

Have it, like it, worth the $. However, I don't have enough experience with the competition to say that Garmins are better than any other. I have the Southern Software that shows MS, AL TN and others. One thing I have noted is that the more famous lakes are better detail than the lesser known. For example, there is a lot more info on Guntersville Lake than there is for Grenada - Not the countour lines I dont' suppose, but the marker information, community hole fishing areas, and "add on" information.

Wannabe...

I have both the navionice gold and the hot maps both are great. I like the garmin best because I have used it the most. but I am getting use to the nav. gold. the hot maps are east to transfer waypoints and bursh pile locations to the hand held or from the hand held to the P.C. I cant do much with a computer but I can work the hot maps with no problems. good luck
