Default hb interlink question

Say I got one and linked my 787 to 797 -

I hit "mark" and store a waypoint on one unit. Lets call it "A"

I understand it is supposed to show on the screen of second unit. "B"

But is it actually stored in the memory of second unit "B"?

If I dismount unit "B", say to use in another boat, do all the shared
waypoints come along for the ride? Or only show when it's still linked?

I'm afraid I know the answer to this, but wanted to ask anyway.

Yes they will store on both units. So inturn you can hook somebody elses unit to yours and it will transfer full data.

J White if you decide to do this I'll trade Sardis info for Bear Creek info if you want. I have a networked 747 and 787C2i

Thanks guys. I'm pleasantly surprised to hear it saves on both.

Yikess, be glad to - I need to get some good stuff saved onto mine
before it'd be worth your trouble tho - I've probably got less than
10 waypoints marked on P'wick right now, at least on h'bird.
Gots lots (some junk) on old dino Lowrance unit I semi-retired,
but no way other than write down and type back in to move them.
Kinda want to start over with clean slate anyhow, some of them are
so old I forgot what they're even supposed to be

If you can figure out how to get the waypoint data out of the Garmin unit you can use Humminbird PC to convert the data over to the Humminbird format save them on a card and they will automatically download into the unit.

Thanks Joby, I'm sure Garmin has some kind of fancy smancy cable they would be willing to sell me that will allow me to download my waypoints to my PC. Once that happens can I use the same Humminbird cable that I use to update my software directly to the 787c2i for this? I don't have an SD card burner in my laptop. Also, I would like to share my waypoints with J white since he has the same uniy as I do. It would be great if I could email them to him.

Yes you will use the same cable that you download software with to convert the waypoints. If you will send me your email address I will send you a document that has a step by step instructions on how to convert waypoints and yes you can email him the converted waypoints.
