    Default Fish finders

I remember when the first flashers came out and a lot of fishermen were wanting them "Outlawed" because they would ruin fishing.

Then we had paper graphs and a lot of fishermen were wanting them "Outlawed" because they would ruin fishing.

Then we got LCD technology, then Color LCD with computers and GPS's. And now side scan Technology. Fishing is better than ever and when a "New and better tool" comes available I will probably buy that too.

In the meantime I will enjoy my new toy and share with you what I find and help you learn more about it.

This is a school of Crappie under a bridge. Caught several at 30' deep on the bottom.

Is that from a 797 or a 997? I'm wanting one bad, and trying to figure
out if the bigger screen is something I can live without...

Wow that is absolutely awesome. I'm now going to save for one of those bad boys. Yes, which unit is that?

That pic is from a 997. So is the one below. They are a heck of a machine. I have a 997. I have seen a 797. Still a good unit. I would not hesitate to buy a 797. Same technology, supposed to be a better screen (more pixels per area and more sunlight readable), just smaller. If I had to choose between buying a 797 or waiting a year to get the 997, I would have a 797 before spring got here.

I plan to spend a day soon, finding brush piles on a local lake, so I can put my kids and I on some fast, fun crappie action this spring.

It sure saves time when you can drive past dozens of bridge pillings at 5 mph, and pick out the 1, 2 or 3 that are currently holding fish.

Yes, that's a 997. I have no experience with the smaller unit.

The pipe looking things are the bridge columns. the darp ones are the shadows from the columns.

It takes a bit of learning on readin these units but once you realze what you're seeing it's awesume.
    Good fishing.
