Check the thermostat. It may not be working properly.

Thermostat can certainly cause it. Does the steady beep come on immediately or after running a while?

After about 3 to 5 minutes of running the alarm starts going off. I didn't know it had a thermostat will check that out. This started after a day of fishing on Truman (MO) when it was high and dirty.

If you have trouble finding it go here http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com/P...phome.asp?CID=
and put your serial number in and you can look at exploded views of your motor.

From the drawings I don't think there is a thermostat on this motor.
