    Default Missing speeds on Motorguide

Saturday morning I lost two speeds on my Motorguide Pro Series 70# trolling motor. Speeds 1 and 2 quite working, but 3-5 still work. Although, there is no difference between 3 and 4.

Could this be the switch under the foot pad. A rheostat switch or something?

Thanks for any help. I've found the switch online, but it doesn't say if it's universal to all the trolling motors or if there are different switches for different models.

It's a 5 position switch. I have had 2 different MGs and the foot peadle speed switches were the same. Most all others look the same on the MGs. But I'm not a 100% on that.

When 2 at a time go like that, it's usually the comm cap that has the speed coils. It's in the motor.

Every one I've ever had did that, I finally fixed it by switching brands

Seriously though, one time I took that chip out and swapped it, and it worked until I sold it. The next time it happened on a different boat/motor I tried the same thing and finally had to take it somewhere to get it fixed and I can't remember what they did.
It's all over but the fryin'......
