    which is better cable steering or electric as on a PD??

    It depends on the user and what you want. Cable steering is much faster response wise. Personally I prefer the PD because you do not have to keep your foot on it all the time and it is much easier on my old legs. Plus you can use goodies such as iPilot with the PD but not the cable.

    To me they both have their place. I like cable steering while jigging or casting and electric steering for trolling. I currently am working on a quick connect that will accept my Terrova and my Maxxum. Best of both worlds!!

    I have a cable and it works good, but your legs does get tried on a long day of fishing.

    Cable!!!!!!!! I bought an electric PD new and used it one day and took it off quick. Wouldn't have anything but a Minn Kota Maxxum and have run them for about 20 yrs
