Hb Equipped To Catch More Crappie
Finally after about 1 year of reading on this site. I bit the bullet and bought the HB 788 and the 998. They have been delivered and on the boat thanks to a good friend and co-worker.
Tested them today for about an hour on an area lake. Looks good so far. Will know more next week when I take the week off work and get them and myself in the serious mode.
Thanks to all who have shared their thoughts good or bad based on their experiences with these units.
A big thumbs ups to John at J&H products for his knowlege, advice, exceptional service and most of all his honesty.
I'm now Ready 2 catch more CRAPPIE!!!!!

Finding them is one thing, but catching them is another....

Your right on CP. By the way it was great to meet you a couple of weeks ago. If you remember I talked with you at the pumping station. I think you and your wife was riding around. I had just taken my boat out and was cleaning it out.

Need 2, that's the exact set-up I have envisioned. I just got the 788 to start to learn on and have planned to add the 998 and interlink them. What made you go with the 998 instead of the 1197? Thanks

The price and the fact that I can only fish on the weekends. Any other fishing is done when on vacation. If I fished more I would have went for the 1197. Oh and the wife thought the 998 was GOOD ENOUGH.
