12/24v trolling motor
I have a 12/24 volt trolling motor. The 12/24 switch is on the trolling motor. My question is how to wire it?? I have 2 12v deep cycle trolling batteries.

What Type Plug Do You Have To Wire It With? In Most Cases You Have 3 Wires. A Black , White, Red. The Black And The White Normally Make 12 Volts. The Black And The Red Make 24 Volts. If You Have It Wired With A Jumper On The Batteries. Put The White On The Positive Terminal Of Battery 1 The Black On The Negative Terminal Of Battery 1. Have A Jumper On The Negative Terminal Of Battery 1 That Goes To The Positive Terminal Of Battery 2 . Then The Red Goes To The Negative Terminal Of Battery 2. That Should Give You 12 Volts Off Battery 1 When You Switch The Switch To 24 Volts It Should Pull Off The Other Battery And Give You 24 Volts. I Hope This Helps.

Some of those older 12/24 systems are 4 wire. Need to know exactly what you have.

I just changed my trolling motor from 12 volt to 24. Can I use my old 2 wire pluge for my 24 volt motor?

Yes it is a 24 volt. I had a 12 volt and i'm changing it out to a 24volt that I just bought. So the old 2 wire pluge on my 12 volt motor will work for my 24 volt?

You will be in good shape. Don't forget to install a 50 amp fsue or circuit breaker.
