Can I assume that when I see a vendor advertise a 1197 that has ContourXD preloaded... that will definately be a 2010 model....??

I wouldn’t. I’ve heard too many stories where a vendor has sold a product (not just ours) with their web site showing some new feature and what the buyer got was older inventory. I would make sure I could return it if it did not have the CountourXD maps – but that’s just me.

I'm trying to figure out how to guarantee to get a 2010 model 1197 when I order one...and not a "left over" 2009 model....

Order from someone you trust or who will work with you. Otherwise I don't know how to guarantee you will get one with the ContourXD maps.

I have been told "No". The 1197 units that have the ContourXD maps will have the same part number as those that have only the UniMap.

not me! I get more & more confused everyday!

Even more confusing is that we have already been shipping the 1197 units with the ContourXD base maps and have been for a few months now. But there is still no guarantee that the unit you buy has not been sitting on a shelf or in a warehouse somewhere for longer than that and will not have the ContourXD maps in it. As always it’s “buyer beware”…

First thing to do would be to download the pdf product manual of the unit that you have/want from the HB website...

Then as mention previously spend a lot of time here....
