I believe we have to support products for like 5 or 7 years after we make them. So you would be good for quite a few years still. By than I'm sure there would be an even more accurate GPS Receiver available as new engines for these come out every year. But suit yourself.
Do you guys actually need a 1 meter accurate GPS Receiver instead of a 2.5 meter GPS receiver or is this just something that you think you want?

I believe it would help with my map making. Don't know. When I generate a raster map file and calibrate it, I am always off by 10-20 or so feet. But my maps are lot more accurate than the built in NVB. I can load my sidescan maps on my Garmin chartplotter (276). I like this stuff. Hobby.
Also, accuracy helps when fishing open shallow water. I mostly vertical jig over structure. Don't move much and when I do, I am moving slooooow.
