Sorry Denny don't know who has any, I called my dealer 2 weeks ago to get another for friend he told me he was calling the 9 folks on waiting list to tell them sorry he could not get any more, we tried about 15 dealers with web site all same, no got sorry. Try ebay sales maybe some will show up there, or HB I never did call them come to think about it.

Sorry, but this is one of the main things that gripes my tail.
I know they have to make money, but to think that you could pay
almost 3 grand for a unit (1197) and there would be a better antennae
OPTIONAL is shameful. It should COME with the best.

There was what, $50 difference in the price of the ant. bought seperately?
At least they could have offered a choice to pay $50 more from the get-go
instead of having to buy the higher accuracy piece and then have the other
    one for a paperweight

Someone explain this to me. There are 24 satellites that make up the GPS network. On your best day, and only at certain times, the max number of satellitees you can lock on to is 12. So why did they come out with a 50 channel puck? What am I overlooking?

I believe several receivers pick up the same satellite and arbitrate the results between receivers. Algorithms. SWAGGING here, but I bet I am close.

You’re in the ballpark there CP. The additional channels allow the GPS Receiver to lock onto multiple satellites faster all the while looking for all of the other satellites as well. Keep in mind that there are future plans for additional and newer satellites, so going forwards these 50-channel GPS Receivers should be able to make use of them (unlike what happened when the WAAS satellites were launched and many had non-WAAS GPS Receivers).

Probably the work of the company bean counters as HB surely makes a bigger profit on the regular 50 channel unit, and who knows they just might up the price of this reg 50 channel unit by same $50.oo in spring of 2010 citing higher costs as economy picks up if it does, betcha its all laid out on drawing board.
Instead of listen to crappie folk & our needs and selling lots of units cause we would all want/need them real accurate units they just think like a bass fishin person playing horseshoes.

I was gonna get one of the high accuracy biscuits, but, since it is being discontinued, so goes the support.
