Question Co-Pilot Remote Battery - Please Help!

Need Some Help, Please.

I replaced the battery in my C-Pilot remote about a month ago, well that battery went dead, I guess, so I put in a new one. That one lasted exactly two trips! Went by the battery barn here in good old Petersburg, VA today to get another new one, the previous two were off the drug store shelf, anyway, the guy checks it out.

He says yep, bad battery, only putting out 3V. I ask what should it be, his reply was 3.29 to 3.3. I am thinking yeah right, that little difference don't mean squat, at least to me!

Can that small difference in voltage render the remote useless? My next question is should I have "re-rembered" (or whatever it's called) the remote to the receiver? And if so, how, as I do not remember how I did it orginally 5 years ago and I cannot find the instructions.

Thanks in Advance - Howard V.

10% below the rated voltage (3v) is considered dead. Maybe not be synced up tx/rx. Hold reset button in for 5 seconds then press any button on remote.

I disconnected my Copilot cause it would not stop chirping. Driving me crazy.
This happened Saturday. Foot control only goes left, no right. PIA.

Thanks Tom - I will try the re-sync thing and hopefully be back in action.

I agree that the foot peddle is indeed a big PAIN!

Thanks Again!

The new battery is in the remote, I pressed the reset button for 5 seconds, it was giving a continuous beep. The remote did not work. I am wondering if the remote may be bad????

Sounds like it. It should have beeped 4 times after reset. But it could be either unit. Is your circuit board in correctly ? You can reverse this board and it won't work. I know. Can you borrow one from a neighbor and try it?

I found the manual (pdf). PM me your email and I will send it to you.

Tom

Thanks Tom. I will have to check the circuit board as the fellow at the battery place put the remote back together, I didn't. That could be the cause, I will let you know. If the board is in correctly I will get Ranger690's remote and try that one.

If anything has gone bad I sure it is the remote and not the reciver part on the motor, I would rather spend $50.00 for a nerw remote as opposed to ~$150.00 to $200.00 for a new unit. Or, I guess I could it repaired.

Need to figure out which one is the culprit first.

Thanks Again - Will send PM.

Regards, Howard V.

Gonna give that a try this afternoon. I checked my remote, the battery and board were both correctly installed. Will try using it on Ranger's and see what happens. More to follow!
