I used my new Terrova 80LBS 60" IPILOT this weekend for the first time and it was great, I bought the cable and am using the built in transducer, only question I have is my Lowrance 522C seemed to be of alot less quality, not nearly as nice as it was and not like the simulator shows, I had it off playing with it this winter, have I changed some setting or could it be the built in transducer doing this? any ideas?

    Question MK Foot Control

Guys I have a Mk Powerdrive 55Pd , And want To get I-pilot I know reading all the stuff on here that you can't use the foot control on this model,If you wire in I-pilot so
you have to unwire it, so has anyone come up with a way that they can still use the foot control by leaving it connected to the TM and just use a switch to go between when using the I-Pilot or the foot control , this way you still would have the foot switch and could still use it and not the I-Pilot ? or some kind of plug in for your foot switch ?
I for one like the sound of I-pilot and still would like to use the switch but don"t want to have to spend more $$$$$$ for a new TM,$400 to over a $1000,lol .
Like I said bound to be a way to do this with all the Tecs, out there ? would like to know ? someone has tried it maybe and MK should have a fix for it and knows how it can be done?
    THANKS GUYS

Cane just seems like there should be an easy fix, think there is something like 6 wires that have to be stored and cable to pull out ? just maybe a double pole switch / 6 contact that could mount somewhere close to switch between I-pilot & foot switch don't know, But you would think MK, would come up with something, lol , know they want to sell more TM, but money comes hard around here , how bout yours ?
    THANKS

    SEMOmike,
You can go to Minn Kota's website, contact their customer service dept and they'll email you a copy of the I-pilot instructions if you still can't find yours. If that doesn't work PM me with your email adddress and I'll email you a copy.

Well, so far nothing negative about the Terrova i-pilot. So here goes...Used mine for the first time Friday, worked great! I was in love! Saturday was fine until... I started getting interference on my sonar when the trolling motor was running (it has us2). Then later, when I tried to use my remote, the motor would spin, wrapping the cord, and would not respond. I had to unplug the power to get it to stop. Been using the foot pedal, and yes, it SUCKS! Make a long story short, button on the remote flattened the contact, new remote fixed the problem. Us2 is faulty, new one is on order.

My new one did the same thing today. Only mine must have more power than yours because it snapped the transducer cord to my Hbird 798 and showed no signs of stopping until I pulled the power plug! It was a huge mess!

Prior to that happening, my remote appeared to "freeze up". It wouldn't work anything so I started using the foot control. That worked for a few minutes and then it decided to try and screw itself around and around taking along any cord it could!

Will be calling Minn Kota in the morning. Hope they help out with a new transducer!
