    Default Cruise Control

O.K. I have begun to really put this Ipilot through its paces. I have been dragging jigs for walleye in a little creek/river near the house and have had good success using the track freature and the cruise control. Help me out a little with specifics on how to efficiently use the cruise control ( now I can't find my dang Ipilot insturctions). I know how to record a track, follow it from start to end, end to start. However when I get to the end of a track and get three beeps, the cruise shuts off, and I have to reset it. When the cruise symbol is flashing.

    Thanks,

Is the boat a bass boat hull? if so, have a MK recommended service center cut your shaft off to the proper length, either 42 or 45 inches.

A picture would help but if it was like mine, with the motor stowed the whole mounting bracket does stick over the side of the boat about that much. Not paying attention I mounted the bracket flush with the edge of my bow and it would not deploy. I dont like the motor/bracket sticking out that far because that is the first thing that is going to be hit if I do bump into something. I'll just have to remember its there. Also I cannot center the trolling motor with the boat but I don't think that will be a problem.

Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!

Crappie little, had the same trouble when I got my first one. I originally had the 54" shaft and you can see from the head it was way over the bow. I returned it and ordered the 48" shaft. It has worked perfectly for my boat.

    48" shaft currently mounted.

The Terrova 80 is a 24 volt only trolling motor not a 12/24 as stated above.
I don't want a 12 volt motor user to buy one thinking it will work on 12 volts.

If you have an 80 terrova it is a straight 24 volt motor. All you need are two wires from the batteries. You need positive from one battery and the negative from the other battery. You also need to add a jumper wire between the batteries. Tie the two post together . positive and negative this makes the two wires going up to your plug 24 volt. You will be eliminating 2 out of the four wires going up front as they are no longer needed. Just unhook them from the batteries. Be sure to run a good circuit breaker of at least 50 amps at the battery. there are diagrams on this board showing wiring systems.

This is what is on the stickers on the box that my trolling motor came in.

    TERROVA 80/US2
    W/I PILOT
    60" shaft
    (EIXODE 152 cm)
    24 volt

No where on the box does it say 12/24 volts. Look at your box before you burn it up!!! You need to read the instructions that came with the trolling motor. I have not seen any thing on the Internet that Minn Kota makes a 80LB TERROVA that is 12VOLTS You need to check with Minn Kota customer service or read the instructions that come with the motor. It is a 24VOLT only motor!!!
Good luck making it work on 12/24VOLTS.
