If you end up getting stuck with the cv-52 transducer. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Focus on what you are getting one heck of a nice MFD with Panoptix capability. Right there is what you should be saving your money for.
Anyone that has fished with me. All want a panoptix equipped unit. Yes it is that effective and impressive. Pretty pictures no find and catch lots of fish yes.
Waypoints so far, mosquitoes were eaten on me so I didn't stay out and play after I hooked every thing back up. 22 gauge wire between the 2 units. Word of warning the blue and brown wires on Stryker unit is very small be careful stripping it back.
Wish work would quit getting in my way I would be out pushing buttons I'm as excited as kid with first BB gun on a Christmas morning with no BB's.

I like the last paragraph! I'm going through withdrawals, haven't used mine in a couple weeks.
Drinkin coffee, missin fish.
I put one on the bow of my boat I think the down scan suxs. Wished it had the other transducer the 2d and the side scan is pretty good though.
I installed mine yesterday. Have not had a chance to get it in the water yet, but fishing all weekend. Any tips on setup or anything I should change in the settings? Thanks
I highly recommend putting it in simulation mode, start changing the color palette, contrast, brightness, etc. In all the "imaging views" you plan on using.
Just remember, be ready to change settings as the sun and clouds change, it sounds like alot- it will make a difference though. It doesn't take that long to do.
By playing around in simulation mode, you'll get a better idea of where menu's are.
Make SURE you take it off simulation mode when you actually use it! Don't ask how I knew to recommend that!!
