Whether the update works great for me or not, it's a plus. I bought my unit and it didn't have this feature so the fact that they came back later and gave everyone this feature free of charge.. that's pretty good in my book.

I have been using Lowrance for 7 years with HDS. 4962 waypoints. My new 12 unit came with 6.0 version. Usr files will not upload. 2 hours on phone with tech and best they said was download .gpx and convert using babel. That does not work either. That was strange to me. Justin found a website with older version so Iinstalled 5.0 and all my .usr files load. Put 7.0 on and fish reveal looks like a lot of clutter on Barkley. .usr files do not work again. Reloaded 5.0 and .usr files work great. ftp://software.lowrance.com/ I may have a corrupt file but went back years on usr and no luck. Lot of chatter on other sites about .usr files not loading. Me thinks C-Map is coming for lowrance!

I had the same problems with way points. I was taking my way points off an ELITE 7 HDI. They are version 3. I talked to tech support, he told me to convert them to gpx, but that didn't work. What did you do to resolve this???

That would be an issue with your unit if it did it with the prior update. I would downgrade the updates, like you did, then try to reload them in order. I cant remember exactly what it said, but there was something about required updates in the info like cant go from 5 to 7. Make sure you follow whatever it said. I playrd with fish reveal for 8 or 10 hours saturday and it adjusts different now. Its more like hummingbird with contrast and sensitivity. (Contrast and colorcast it believe) I love it.

I reloaded the 5.192 sowtware and it works great with waypoints I think they are forcing a different format to run c-map. Going up the chain at tech now that I have more intel on my end. I had to do a hard reset to reload software backwards. Also going to try and create some waypoints out of unit and reload waypoints straight back. Did not work last time.

We have 3 lowrance units and the only issues we have had with waypoint have been through an installation networking issue we didnt notice. The problems we had though appeared tk be compatibility. Once I removed the unit I was using from the network it had no issues. All of our waypoints are converted between Humminbird and Lowrance because we scout from the console with Lowrance and fish with Humminbird. You can reinstall software on Lowrance by using the same name as the newest but adding a letter to it. Their tech will walk you through downgrading versions if need be. We had to before finding the problem.

Does it give a specific fault or alarm? Or are they just not there?

On a 7 TI I downloaded fish reveal and went to a lake today and used it off and on for about 5 hrs. Kept my waypoints also as they are all there. To get rid of the clutter, just had to adjust sensitivity alittle and contrast just a notch. Seems to work ok and I like it, but need to use it again and play with settings. Got blowed off the lake by 18 mph winds gusting to 25.

Hey Semo, thanks for trying to help. What units are you running and what software version is in them?
